Growing up in Red Lodge can be fun and exciting with many opportunities to be active and involved from sports to hiking to skate boarding. Many organizations in our community work to provide fun activities, leadership development, and skill building programs for our young people. Sports activities help develop sportsmanship and physical well being Beartooth Little League, Red Lodge Ice, the Red Lodge Skate Park, Silver Run Ski Education Foundation, and Red Lodge Youth Soccer all provide these developmental opportunities.
The Boys & Girls Club, Hope Ranch, Celtic Fusion and the Jane Ferguson Wilderness Adventure all work to expand the horizons of our youth through programs that encourage personal discovery, building life-long friendships, appreciation for other cultures, learning about nature, and learning new skills.
To ensure that every young person who wants to be involved in sports, music, or other activities the Youth Enrichment Fund through the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation provides scholarships and financial assistance. No young person should have to sit on the sidelines or not be able to participate for any reason.
Need proof that these programs are working, just take a look at the Red Lodge High School Interact Club. Members of Interact serve their community and beyond through volunteering and fund raising. They bring smiles to many as they paint faces at the Fun Run every year.
Red Lodge cares about its young people as demonstrated by the commitment of these many organizations and the hard work put in by volunteers to guarantee that no child is denied the opportunity to be involved, learn new skills and just have fun.
