The Fun Run was a great way for the Public Schools Foundation to be a part of the non profit world in Red Lodge and Carbon County. We have benefited from the support of other organizations and it has helped us to find our place in this great community. The Fun Run is well organized and supports the entire community. We are proud to be participants and look forward to the "fun" again in 2012.
Mission
The Foundation is organized exclusively for supporting and enhancing educational opportunities in the Red Lodge Public Schools, including program development, on-going programs, and activities, and building construction.
Use of Funds
The funds from the Fun Run were used for administration of Public Schools Foundation, we did not expend any funds in 2010 bat we did use the money in 2011 to help with celebrating the opening of the new gymnasium which we raised money for and particularly for awarding grants to teachers to be used in their work as educators
Impact
The money raised through the Fun Run has enabled the Foundation to operating during the past year. We have been focusing virtually all of our volunteer efforts on raising the funds necessary to complete the high school gymnasium. We have used Fun Run monies for printing materials, letterhead, postage and other incidental administrative costs. We could not possibly have done the work to raise the money for completing the gymnasium without the funds from the Fun Run to operate our organization. In addition we were able to make awards to teachers to help them educate the children in our community. The money awarded to teachers will help them in their classes. Education is an important part of our community and the support has been great but there are always needs that cannot be met through the regular budget and we hope to meet those educational grants.
