A Place for promoting and sharing all the things of STEAM
Volunteer assistants do not need to know how to teach or carry-out student tasks, they only need to help manage flow of classroom (communication/student whereabouts/general behaviors/snack time), mostly for the sake of kid-safety protocols and order.
Program Assistants will assist lead informal teacher(s), also volunteers at Hero’s STEAM Center, with students that opt into programs such as: the code girls united program, NESSP Artemis ROADS (NASA) program, Video Game Programming, laser cutting/etching, 3D Printing and various summer youth programs that may be offered (animation, morse code, intro to microbiology through tardigrade examination, Teddy Bear Building – “soft-engineering”, basics of bots, etc.). Student ages typically range from 6 to 14 years old depending on program limitations and registrations.
