Come to a special showing of BETWEEN by Shades of Winter to benefit Girls In Motion
Girls In Motion, a subsidiary of the Red Lodge Community Foundation, will be hosting BETWEEN Saturday, February 4, 5:30 pm at the Roman Theater. BETWEEN, a Red Bull Media House co-production, is the latest film by Austrian pro skier and filmmaker Sandra Lahnsteiner who keeps redefining women in action sports movies since her first release in 2010. BETWEEN features America’s Olympic Gold medalist Julia Mancuso.
“With Shades of Winter (2013) and Pure (2014) we proved that girls really rip. BETWEEN definitely won’t prove the opposite but goes beyond all this great sport action. I wanted to make a film that gives the audience the chance to really see the athletes, find out who they really are and how they feel about life and their sport. Showing all the moments BETWEEN the big action, the beautiful ones and also the down moments. Making BETWEEN was – hands-down – the biggest challenge of my life so far. No university degree, no big mountain line has ever challenged me as hard for many reasons.” — Austrian pro skier and filmmaker Sandra Lahnsteiner.
All proceeds from the Red Lodge screening will go to Girls in Motion – a fund providing grants encouraging young girls to begin athletic activities early in life. Two years ago the fund started with the showing of Pretty Faces, and continues to provide dollars to girls pursuing athletic passions. A raffle for items such as lift tickets and pair of Solomon skis from Skiboot Rx will help raise additional dollars.
