There aren’t enough running puns to push through the pain when you’re out on the course. But hopefully, this year’s Annual Fun Run for Charities in Red Lodge will provide positive feelings as we get back to hosting an in-person event, as well as a virtual race!
That’s right, we’ll be back in person at Lions Club Park on Sept. 4 to celebrate in the park with burgers, prizes, and all of your favorite charities! And after some feedback last year, we’ll be offering the Fun Run virtually for those who can’t be with us on Sept. 4.
We’re very excited to announce we have 62 charities this year, including 10 new charities. We had a few grantees merge this year with existing nonprofits, as well.
Patty Schuessler, BareTooth Cupboards secretary, said the Fun Run helps their group of volunteers help families in need each year.
“It is a major fundraising source for BareTooth Cupboards,” Schuessler said. “We found nearly 90 percent of the money we bring in go toward groceries…to support many families in our communities where it is often to feed a family.”
The Fun Run got kicked off in May with our annual kickoff meeting. We heard from all our charities about what they’re raising funds for, updates on volunteer positions, and what we still have yet to accomplish before the big event day.
We’ll have another marketing meeting in July to discuss some marketing techniques for charities to use moving into the final month before the Fun Run. Pretty soon, you’ll be able to see registration forms, posters for the event, and maybe even the Fun Run Moose as we get closer to the date.
If you’re interested in registering, donating or celebrating with us, you can find all the information on at www.rlacf.org/funrun.
